Testimony is an artists’ book of Asemota’s performance at the National Portrait Gallery in London on June 26, 2008.
Each edition features Asemota’s handwriting in pigment ink, several drawings in graphite including the seven Marshalling in the performance along with unfixed drawings in orhue (kaolin) and coal*, a post-it note, a leaf out of a book of collected poems by Rudyard Kipling, photocopies, post-card, a piece of ribbon, a unique Polaroid SX-70 colour photograph, newsprint, official press release and archival colour photographs. The Stabilo eraser tipped HB Blacklead pencil Asemota made the drawings is affixed to the spine of the slipcase.
*Pages contain orhue (kaolin) and coal sand particles

This CD is of the first act of Leo Asemota’s hour-long performance interpretation of Walter Benjamin’s seminal essay “An Artwork in The Age of Its Technological Reproducibility”. The performance marked stage 4 in The Ens Project’s First Principles and was broadcast on the art radio station Resonance 104.4FM.
The disc is an advanced premium grade black on black composition in a jewel case encased in yellow corrugated cardboard box. Inserts include a précis, promotional leaflet and a certificate of ownership signed by Leo Asemota.

This artistsʼ book is released on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Leo Asemotaʼs “After Walter: A transmission in 2 acts” his performance reading of Walter Benjaminʼs regarded text “The Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction” (1936). Leo Asemota | RECALL: The longMarch of Displacement
A high-definition video recording of the live art work “The longMarch of Displacement” (2008) on a Blu-ray disc. Every disc in the edition bears a thermal printed video still from a different point in time in the performance. The discs are mounted on foam spiders attached to black foam board and is enclosed in hand-cut foldout box designed on the outline of St. Paul’s Cathedral.
